The smoker works pretty well. If you soak your wood chips, you need to start the grill, get it hot, and let the chips sit in the smoker for a while before you will get lots of smoke. Once smoking, it works great. The only problem with the smoker is that after you are done grilling and want to empty the chips out, it is messy due to the holes at the bottom of the smoker where it contacts the grill flavorizer bars.

My husband and I purchased the Weber Genesis Silver gas grill approx 6-7 years ago and it has been a wonderful grill for us - We originally purchased this grill on sale for 9.00. We grill frequently and the grill is outside all year round (although we spent the extra $$$$ to get the weber cover right away which has been WELL WORTH IT). The original grates wore out - we were worried that we would have trouble finding replacements but the Weber 7525 porcelain enameled grates are a perfect fit!

NOTE: Be sure to visit the Weber website first - they have a great wizard that walks you a series of questions to help confirm the grill you have and what part to order - takes all of the guess work out of it!!

I purchased these for my Weber Genesis grill. As grates go, they are pretty solid and pretty expensive - but I guess there's a premium to pay for getting a genuine Weber product....

In my mind, there's no rocket-science to buying grates that are specific to one's grill. Either it fits or it doesn't. So, what it boils down to is how much one wants to spend. I was willing to spend a little more to get grates which were identical to those which came with my grill. So, in shopping around, I found that Amazon had the best price for such. The free Super-Saver shipping also sweetened the deal for me.

If there's a downside to the product it is in the fact that the length of the grates are about an eighth of an inch too long. As such, they do not fit side-by-side in the grill unless you angle one of the grates diagonally ever so slightly. This is not a problem unless you are a fanatic about symmetrical grill marks on your food! Were it not for this minor flaw (coupled with my high expectations about quality for the price) I would have provided a five star rating.
